OshawaSpaceInvaders

In 2014 I coordinated the social media for the Durham Region arts festival OshawaSpaceInvaders. Leading up to the festival I wrote features on participating artists for the blog, provided coverage of OshawaSpaceInvaders events, and created community engagement through campaigns such as #WhosWhoWednesday, where community members would write #oshawaspaceinvaders on a surface of their choice and take a selfie with their work (surfaces included paper, wood, and even a belly). I also wrote a guest spot blog post about the event for Broken Pencil Magazine. The OshawaSpaceInvaders blog has since been taken offline.

Having had Hillary handle our blog for our sprawling art event known as Oshawa Space Invaders, I can attest to the fact that she brings both skill and enthusiasm in equal measure to a project. Her passion for the arts and her unique personality never made any of our efforts feel like work. — Steven Frank, OshawaSpaceInvaders co-founder
