Communications Coordinator (July 2021–November 2023)

I led the Communications team, managing student placements, summer students, and interns, while creating and scheduling social media content (Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube) and overseeing internal and external newsletters, including Hello, Pleo. I also copy edited the counsellor-run outgoing newsletter. I developed and executed campaigns such as #PleoBack2School, maintained content calendars, and managed updates to the WordPress website, including contributing to its redevelopment.

As a co-founder of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) Working Group, I helped shape communications strategies and foster community engagement. I also contributed to staff development and improved hiring practices. Additionally, I supported fundraising initiatives and participated in the organization’s first Ottawa Pride parade.
